While Social Security payments are going up, you probably will not be celebrating if you’re like most recipients because your monthly check will only grow by 1.7 percent.

Following the announcement by the Social Security Administration that the Cost of Living Adjustment would increase by less than 2%, 88 year old retired Army Air Corps Sargent. Russel Schaller told City Island Images "they have been beating me to death since I retired"

Baseball's been very very good for CC... Sabathia starts tonight as he highhandedly tries to save those dammed Yankees’ season once again.

This was probably the nastiest presidential debate in the political history of this country and many agree it was a tie. President Obama and Governor and Mitt Romney kept interrupting and eyeballing each other for an hour and a half, sometimes from a few feet apart.

(BRIC) Brazil-Russia-India-China have symbolized the rise of once-poor countries developing into global economic powerhouses.

It was originall thought that the rapid expansion of emerging-market countries would rescue Europe, the United States and Japan from international economic turmoil.

BRIC was believed to prop up the global demand for industrial goods, oil, foodstuffs and minerals. But that optimism may never be realized, according to some economists who argue that this was once a possibility, but no longer.

With the death of US Senator Arlen Specter from Pennsylvania, it’s difficult to avoid a metaphor about American politics. Where have all those GOP moderates gone?

The late senator devoted his 30-year Senate career as a loyal Republican, but switched to the Democratic Party in April 2009. His partisan decision was partly about self-preservation, as Senator Specter faced defeat in the upcoming Republican primary against a conservative opponent who accused Specter of becoming too liberal for the GOP.
