11/11/11 CIVILITY DAY

Submitted by ub on

Make a bet, a wish, begin a new friendship, or just do something nice for someone at 11:11 on the 11th day of the 11th month of 2011. All over the world, many people are planning to mark the triple convergence of 11s, hoping it will bring them good fortune or at least try something new. I plan to buy 11 lottery tickets (each, of course, including the number 11). At precisely at 11:11 a.m...

Some folks seem to think that on 11/11 magic will happen, things may come true, it could happen to you, or me, or all of US.

City Island and communities all around this great country are honoring the brave men and women who have served this wonderful nation in times of war and peace. Through public ceremonies, parades, and celebrations or private prayers and reflection, Americans will make known their gratitude to those who have sacrificed so much for our country.

This is also a reminder that honoring our veterans shouldn't be limited to just once. The enormous sacrifice they and their families make deserves to be recognized throughout the year.

Thanksgiving Comes Early?

Its beginning to look a lot like Thanksgiving... The outlook for American jobs and trade looks brighter, despite growing uncertainty with our overseas partners.

The number of Americans who applied for unemployment benefits last week fell a seasonally adjusted 390,000, according to the US Labor Department. That happens to be the fewest since April... Wow!
