Born out of World War II’s devastation to save future generations from conflict, the United Nations officially marks its 75th anniversary Monday at an inflection point in history, navigating a polarized world as it faces a pandemic, regional conflicts, a shrinking economy, and growing inequality.

Criticized for spewing out billions of words and achieving scant results on its primary mission of ensuring global peace, the UN nonetheless remains New York City the one place that its 193 member nations can meet to talk.

If you are angry about liberalism and insist on spreading hate about it, then you despise Democracy and really hate America.

The following should be required reading. ‘IF’ was written by an Indian born, English Nobel Laureate poet and journalist named Joseph Rudyard Kipling. It can serve as the ultimate inspiration that tells all of us how to deal with different phases in life and helps us to become better people.

The poem, written in 1895 and first published in ‘Rewards and Fairies’, 1910 is 32 lines long with four stanzas of eight lines each. It is a tribute to Leander Starr Jameson.

There are less than forty-five full days remaining before Americans go to the polls and vote for POTUS 46. The issues are increasingly important and therefore every US citizen should be registered and plan to participate in the most important election of their lifetime.

Our fragile Democracy demands that all Americans have their Individual voices heard loud and clear at the ballot box in November.

He has been quoted as hating and even dispising Puerto Ricans, according to those who worked alongside him. Omarosa reportedly says Trump used'a derogatory term for Puerto Ricans. "His total lack of empathy is bad enough, but I believe many of the problems and delays with getting aid ... were partly political," she says in "Unhinged."

The Graveyard Shift

The Nightshift is made possible by the many businesses that require non stop 24-hour staffing and close attention to constant detail.

Some are attracted to it for various reasons. I worked that shift and called it the graveyard shift. If you're in a union, the pay is higher and it is called an overnight differential.  But I jumped when I was offered another job because I never grow fond of it.

Before POTUS entered on the Execution of his Office, he took the following Oath - I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. That signifies all the people from all the states, not just Red states.

When we first launched this blog, Ron Terner was kind enough to allow us to transmit live images of City Island avenue to grace our front page. Then, I had 28K views, according to Google analytics. We are now past 60K and growing.

Focal Point Gallery is the oldest establishment on City Island and Terner is celebrating 46 years in business, which is quite a feat, so let's give him a big hand. Let us also support him with dollars and cents. Ron is the greatest artist on the island.
