A well-known phrase - History has a way of repeating itself - Or does it also have a way of reversing itself? The same kinds of events repeat or the opposite occurs. Will history repeat or reverse itself for our country? Is our nation is headed for disaster?

The "Eighteenth Brumaire" November 9, 1799 —the day Napoleon Bonaparte had made himself dictator by a coup d'état. The work is the source of one of Marx's most quoted statements, that history repeats itself, "the first as tragedy, then as farce".

On this Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the New Year, we wish our Jewish friends and readers, Samaritans, and all the Christian friends who celebrate it, a good, easy or meaningful fast.

OK folks its time for show and tell. Who calls himself a stable genius and boasts about his unmatched wisdom without any knowledge? No, it was not Tricky Dick. Could it be Real Trekkie Don answering a distress signal from the USSR Putin? His decisions have been described as a knee jerk. They chose one word correctly. Trump has now abandoned the Kurds.

Congress needs to investigate why Trump agreed to give a green light to Erdogan against his advisers recommendations. Did POTUS give Putin an early holiday gift? What did Trump get in exchange for handing Turkey that territory? Most agree this one’s a political train wreck and a human blood bath waiting to happen.

Who asked for Trump to pull out... Not the Defense or the State Department, nor the foreign policy establishment or the American people. Not Republicans or Democrats? Was it Erdogan and Putin?

OK, Country... Settle down, America. SCOTUS returns to work today with a new Supreme Court term, and there are serious judicial issues on tap.

The mourning menu for SCOTUS new term, which begins an extended run through much of the 2020 election season is really serious. The justices adjourn next June, but their influence will be felt by most, including POTUS, Congress and We The People.

After reading the book, I recommend The HBO documentary "Deadline Artists" which explores an era when newspapers were still king, with two stars and historians. Pete Hamill and Jimmy Breslin brought New York City to life through shoe-leather reporting and tabloid poetry.

#PeteHamill and #JimmyBreslin - Names that will live not only in print but in the history book of news reporters, not journalists.

President Donald Trump left his native country as an old man and traveled across the globe to meet a much younger man he says fell in love with. He plunged himself into this relationship and longed to tell his story, but his heart was broken by yet another two-timing Dick Tator.

The All-American concept has always been that of vision, morality, and leadership and the fear is that it may be changing here by the actions of individuals who did not get enough support or encouragement or perhaps did not have a parent who provided a healthy role model of ethical standards or how to handle difficult, compromising situations.
