Warming Trend

The previous blast of arctic air that broke records along the East Coast for the past two weeks may finally be departing.

Heavy rain, gusty winds, and mountain snow will impact central and southern California through Tuesday; this may result in debris flows and mudslides due to recent wildfires.

The cold temperatures in the East will moderate, but areas of freezing rain are expected from the Missouri Valley to Mid Atlantic. Locally heavy rainfall is also possible over the lower Mississippi Valley.

Addiction Requires Abstinence

We are talking about the growing danger of Internet addiction. While treating addiction is never easy, abstinence appears to be the only option, and conventional wisdom dictates that recovery is possible once addicts stop using and go cold turkey.

Once they’re sober, recovered alcoholics aim to stay sober. Once they’re off drugs, former opioid addicts don’t abuse it but work to stay clean for life. How will this uncontrollable urge - stay connected online while disconnected in person end? CIU, PCU, PIU, IAD, IGD, PIU - it all stinks to me from this vantage point.

Bombogenesis

A bone-chilling arctic air covered the East Coast and Midwest US, creating dangerous conditions as tens of millions of people struggled to clean up from blizzards, and drifting snow in many areas earlier this week.

This unlucky 13 day record-breaking brutally cold and record-breaking deep freeze has continued for two weeks and reportedly killed dozens.

Millions have already been affected and flights have been canceled, at airports struggling to cope with a backlog of record-breaking temperatures will continue to freeze parts of the US and Canada for one more day.

The F is for freezing, please keep it clean in case you were thinking otherwise, so try hard to get your minds out of the gutter. This a family-friendly platform carries warnings whenever necessary.

Brrr Brutally cold temperatures are expected and it will be another EXTREMELY cold day. Bundle up, stay indoors if you can, make sure your pets are also inside, but also check in with your elderly neighbors, or at least call them to make sure they're OK.

There is good news and there is bad news. Which one should we start with? Let us begin with good news.

Happy Epiphany

When I was a child, my parents celebrated this day and called it Los 3 Reyes Magos, or The 3 Wise Kings. Now all I can do is try to get my little ones to learn and hopefully observe this special day in their special day.

Epiphany is the manifestation of Christ to the Gentiles as represented by the Magi Matthew 2:1–12. The festival commemorating the Epiphany on January 6.It was said to be the day the kings arrived to bring baby Jesus their gifts of Gold, Incense, and Myhr. The manifestation of a divine or supernatural being. However, some traditions are easier to save than others.

First played in Scotland, golf is a club and ball sport in which players use various irons to hit balls into a series of holes on a course in as few strokes as possible.

Does it seem hard to believe that since swearing to preserve, protect and defend America, @POTUS has spent over 25 percent of his time playing golf? " I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States" Really, so what real work has he actually done since being sworn in?

Deadly Storm

The way we describe weather has become more histrionic in recent years. When the Moon is closest to Earth, we call it a Supermoon. A storm that’s not quite a hurricane is a Superstorm. And a storm with “explosive cyclogenesis” is now a Bomb Cyclone.

'Polar vortex' gives way to 'bomb cyclone.' This and other weather terms we love http://lat.ms/2Cq4ica

Chunks of ice and even an ice machine were seen floating in flood waters in Scituate Harbor, Massachusetts, today as the bomb cyclone continues to slam the east coast with wind, rain, snow and ice http://cnn.it/2CTB85X
