On Oct. 12, 1492 (according to the Old Style calendar), Christopher Columbus' expedition arrived in the present-day Bahamas.

On this date:

In 1792, the first recorded U.S. celebration of Columbus Day was held to mark the tricentennial of Christopher Columbus' landing.

In 1810, the German festival Oktoberfest was first held in Munich to celebrate the wedding of Bavarian Crown Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen.

The cliché that you can chose your friends but not your family members becomes apparent when one meets with the latter and finds out that some drank that potion when we were’nt watching.

There are usually two groups of folks, the ones deeply rooted in truth, and justice or the others who believe whatever they are told but don’t participate in ways which require analysis or closer inspections to issues in order to seek enlightenment.

As we approach the 50th anniversary of the death of a 20th-century revolutionary madman Ernesto "Che" Guevara who was killed on October 9, 1967, in Bolivia we ask was Che a monster or a guerilla legend?

Ernesto Guevara was born on June 14, 1928 to a well to do family. He went on become an Argentine Marxist r, a physician, an author, and most of all a guerrilla leader.

The Trump administration says they will end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, with a six-month delay. The decision represents a blow to young undocumented immigrants known as 'dreamers' who were shielded from deportation under DACA.
