War of Words

The Pope is more popular than any political candidate and those who have faith may see that God will provide the answer. But please understand that sometimes it takes a while to be able to recognize what God wants, because God's voice is usually nothing more than a whisper.

Voters have to listen carefully to hear it but there have been times, when the answer is obvious and rings as loud as a church bell. If religious leaders rise on faith, do all politicians just run on hot air? The US electorate will decide in due time and on judgement day.

Do you know the reason why Presidents Day is now celebrated on the third Monday in February?

Presidents Day was originally established in 1885 to commemorate the first US President, George Washington's birthday on February 22nd. In 1968 it was moved in conjunction with a Monday Holiday by President Lyndon Johnson to create more three-day weekends for working Americans. The act also combined Washington’s birthday with Abraham Lincoln’s February 12th birthday.

Johnson was a Democrat, who changed birthday celebrations of both Republican and Federalist Presidents.

The Jews have their archaeologically identifiable origins as a people group around 1100 BC. That is the time you begin to see a new people group producing distinguishable material culture and growing into the Israelite kingdoms which were established about 1000 BC. That said, their kingdom only lasted until 586 BC, with a short resurgence between the Greek and Roman empires from about 170-37 BCE. Further, they were destroyed and scattered in 140 AD after the end of the Bar Kokhba revolt, the last gasp of Jewish nationalist revolt in antiquity.
