The big day is almost here... When friends cross the finish line, shaming you for still being in bed after noon.

It's the NYC Marathon, and whether you're in the race, watching from the sidelines or avoiding the entire athletic event altogether, you want to know about it.

The 26.2 mile race begins around 9A in Staten Island, then continues in waves through Brooklyn, up to Long Island City, across the Queensboro bridge, up First Ave to the Bronx and back down Fifth Ave to the finish line at Central Park.

Holiday happiness

HAPPY HOLIDAYS * As we approach the holiday season, take a moment to appreciate and recognize the fact that without our parents, we wouldn't be who we are... TEAM UP WITH THE BEST, OUR FAMILY.

Try to realize how difficult and hard it is to accomplish something on your own and appreciate the importance and the value in helping our family. This is what we all look for in people. We want someone who can appreciate the help of others, a person who values the hardships required to do important things, and who doesn't put money as an only goal in life.

This will be his last race. There's "zero chance" the Triple Crown winner will race again after the Breeders' Cup Classic, according to Ahmed Zayat.

Hispanic jockey Victor Espinoza, who rode Pharoah for his three historic wins, will race him around the track this last time for the $5 million purse, the richest in North American racing.

Dear Mr. Lack,

Housekeeping or cleansing?

Because the Republican speaker of the House, John Boehner resigned under pressure from the dissident group of Republicans, aka US House Freedom Caucus, there was a need to elect a new speaker.

Please note that under Republican leadership, US House members entered into an unpopular government shutdown and only narrowly avoided a crisis over raising the debt ceiling. Also keep in mind that both 112th and 113th congresses were among the least productive ever as measured by the amount of legislation passed, with filibusters and other parliamentary tactics used frequently.
