It is being called the fight of the century. Today boxing fans are expecting to see the largest-grossing fight in history, with the biggest purse, the greatest pay-per-view buys and highest ticket prices.

It may be the one of the most significant athletic events in the last 50 years. The Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao bout in Las Vegas is a big deal.

Why is this the biggest fight ever? Two grown macho men fighting over pretty purses, while other men place bets on the outcome of the boxing match.

Most folks from United States appear to know very little about the International Workers' Day of May also known as Day. For many, there is an assumption that it is a holiday celebrated in state communist countries like Cuba, China, or Russia.

Most Americans don't realize that May Day has its origins here in this country and is as American as empty baseball stadiums and and apple pie, which by the way were first made by early Romans. But lets not regress. May Day stemmed from the pre-Christian holiday of Beltane, a celebration of rebirth and fertility.

Other possible candidates include former Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley, former Virginia Senator Jim Webb and former Rhode Island Governor Lincoln Chafee.
