Same Sex Attractions?

We live in a global society where everyone is assumed heterosexual unless they say it openly, or its otherwise obvious because most folk appear to be heterosexual.

But for those who aren’t, attempting to show interest in someone of the same gender can range from the awkward to interesting. There’s always the risk of hitting on someone who doesn’t return that sort of interest.

The British are Coming! The British are Coming!“ Listen my children and you shall hear, of the midnight ride of Paul Revere”... So starts the words from Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.

Paul Revere galloped on horseback through the Bronx four times, not to alert the
patriots that the British were coming, but to deliver the mail as a post rider.
The British did attack New York City in 1776 at the Battle of Brooklyn and tried to end the American Revolution with the capture and surrender of General George Washington in the Bronx.

Safety Needs of Civilian Space Travel

The commercial aviation industry has medical care standards, as does NASA for traditional space missions, and the emerging commercial space transportation industry will need to define medical care practices as well. The unique risks posed by commercial spaceflight warrant the establishment of Medical Levels of Care to account for the different phases of suborbital and orbital missions, as described in an article published in New Space, a peer-reviewed journal from Mary Ann Liebert, Inc., publishers. The article is available free on the New Space website until February 14, 2015.

GOP Roots?

Abraham Lincoln was the first US President who was a member of the modern Republican party. But who was the first big shot in the Grand Old Party? Most agree that it began in a little Wisconsin schoolhouse in 1854. A small group of dedicated abolitionists gathered to fight the expansion of slavery, and they gave birth to a Party dedicated to freedom and equal opportunity.

The name “Republican” was chosen, alluding to Thomas Jefferson’s Democratic-Republican Party and conveying a commitment to the inalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Should tipping be necessary?

Submitted by Admin on

Tipping may not be a good system, whether its done in America, Europe, or Asia. In fact, in many of these countries tipping is not a part of the national culture.

In countries where gratuities are the norm, some employers pay workers with the expectation that their wages will be supplemented by tips. Some folks criticize the inherent social awkwardness in transactions that involve tipping, the inconsistency of tipping for some services but not similar ones, and the irrationality of basing tips on price, rather than the amount and quality of service.
