The Florida teenager who was shot and killed by a neighborhood watch volunteer last month, has been honored in many cities throughout this great country. 17-year-old Trayvon Martin was shot in his neighborhood after shopping, while wearing a hoodie.
The shooter, George Zimmerman, claimed he was acting in self-defense when he shot the teen and has so far not been charged by Sanford Florida police. The US Justice Department and the FBI are now investigating this case.
As the Hispanic population continues to grow in The Bronx and everywhere else all over this great country. Latinos are now the fastest growing ethnic demographic in the USA.

In one of the darkest moments of America's industrial history, the Triangle Shirtwaist Company factory in New York City burns down, killing 145 workers, on this day in 1911. The tragedy led to the development of a series of laws and regulations that better protected the safety of factory workers.
