UN UNITED?

Submitted by ub on

Government representatives of Russia and The People's Republic of China have managed to veto a United Nations Security Council resolution, which condemns the Syrian government’s crackdown on protests.

At a meeting in the UN, 13 countries voted for the resolution proposed by European and Arab nations that gave strong support to an Arab League plan to end the crackdown and call for President Bashar al-Assad to step aside.

However, representatives for the governments China and Russia have both continued to veto this important internationally supported measure.

Timeless Lessons For Speaking

Please, think before you open your mouth. You may also wish to consider practicing a better method of communicating with others, besides trash talking.

Also, utilizing the only 27 words you know, interspersed with what I prefer to identify as crutches, such as "I'm like, he's like, she's like." or "you know", "ah", "um" and so many other noises, which are unacceptable and totally inefficient form of communication. Advertising invented terms like super-size and other made up monstrosities are just not proper uses of our language.

Following an unarmed Bronx teen being fatally shot by NYPD after being chased into the family home, Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz says enough is enough. “We have a problem, not just in the Bronx but across the City. In the past week we have seen a well-publicized video documenting apparent police brutality, the attempted murder of a police officer in Brooklyn, and, this afternoon, a young, unarmed man saw his life end by a police officer’s bullet."
