We wish you a Matty Christmas and a happy news year. The Christmas holidays often bring wonderful memories and are a joyous time of the year. God only knows what we need is many feel-good stories this particular year.

After sharing a truly delightful Thanksgiving week with our beautiful family in California, Yirong and I received a VIP visit from our favorite three-year-old boy. This little big man not only reads and writes English, but speaks Chinese, and a little Spanish as well.

Today’s a date will live in infamy. On this date 78 years ago, the Imperial Japanese Navy attacked U.S. naval base Pearl Harbor, killing more than 2,400 people and wounding more than 1,000.

On this day in 1941, 353 Japanese warplanes strike the US Pacific Fleet anchored at #PearlHarbor, Hawaii. The raiders sink four battleships, damage 15 other vessels and kill thousands of Americans.

City Island Blaze

A morning fire broke out at 283 Fordham Place on City Island, attracting over a hundred public safety respondents, including @FDNY #EMS and a dozen fire department ladder truck engines and supporting vehicles.

A New York City Fire Department Captain on the scene told us there were no serious injuries and eyewitnesses said the occupant came out barefoot apologizing to firefighters.

Another neighbor told us she was frightened because her house is all wood. Someone else who lives nearby told #CityImages the gentleman lost everything.

A World Divided By Facts

We are separated between fact and fiction. There is one truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, so help us God. And the problem appears to be that some refuse to review real facts instead of opinions.

The issue is between folks who believe in facts, and those who don’t and won’t. For example, huge alliance like NATO takes diplomacy, patience, tact, the ability and willingness to listen, and a thorough knowledge of the issues, proving once again that some are incapable or unwilling.
