It's concerning when leaders undermine the free press, as it's a cornerstone of democracy and essential for holding power to account.

My younger self reminds me that the responsibility of civic-minded folks, new media, and all citizen journalists is to continue challenging lies, disinformation, and exaggeration to hold leaders accountable now as it is crucial, particularly when trust in institutions is at an all-time low.

On this last day of teacher appreciation week, I wish to pay tribute to my late mom, who was a teacher, Miss Calhoun and Ms. Gibson.

As a young immigrant, Ms. Calhoun and Ms. Gibson were my elementary teachers who helped me learn to read, write, and speak English and to speak up and fly like an Eagle.

In the '90s, I moved to City Island - A Slice of NYC Paradise to build News 12 The Bronx. I then hired and trained my new staff. Following a successful launch, I was recruited by The Associated Press to serve as its founding television news, NY Bureau Chief.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has emphasized his vitality and relative youth compared to the leading Democratic and Republican candidates.

Kennedy pitches himself as a younger, healthier alternative to Biden and Trump, but the New York Times obtained a 2012 deposition where Kennedy admitted that “a worm got into my brain and ate a portion of it and then died.” This may explain RFK Jr.

Kennedy testified at the time that “I have short-term memory loss, and I have longer-term memory loss that affects me.”

The International Oceans' record heat streak had reached a 13-month high and getting hotter, according to published reports.

"Whilst temperature variations associated with natural cycles like El Niño come and go, the extra energy trapped into the ocean and the atmosphere by increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases will keep pushing the global temperature towards new records," Carlo Buontempo, director of the Copernicus Climate Change Service
