Martin Luther King, Jr., Malcolm X, Nelson Mandela, Emmett Till... Rosa Louise McCauley Parks was an African-American civil rights activist, whom the U.S. Congress called "the first lady of civil rights", and "the mother of the freedom movement". Celebrate Rosa as she wanted to be remembered. "I would like to be known as a person who is concerned about freedom and equality and justice and prosperity for all people."

Just about everybody knows today's Super Bowl XLVII features coaching brothers Jim and John Harbaugh, but not everyone is aware this game includes son versus father.

23 year old Jay is a coaching intern for Baltimore. He works for his uncle, John, head coach of the Ravens, while his dad coaches SF49ers.
Since there's been other brother vs. brother competitions in history, (more about that later) these Super Bowl teams John Harbaugh in Baltimore and Jim Harbaugh in San Francisco have both arrived at this point with no resemblance.

Gonzales becomes first Hispanic U.S. attorney general. Alberto Gonzales won Senate confirmation as the nation's first Hispanic attorney general despite protests over his record on torture. The Senate approved his nomination on a largely party-line vote of 60-36, reflecting a split between Republicans and Democrats over whether the administration's counter-terrorism policies had led to the abuse of prisoners in Iraq and elsewhere. Shortly after the Senate vote, Vice President Dick Cheney swore in Gonzales as attorney general in a small ceremony in the Roosevelt Room at the White House. President Bush, who was traveling, called to congratulate him.

No kidding, it's snowing again in New York City. The Big Apple is to receive just under two inches through 7pm Sunday.

This light snowfall across most of the area now should be changing over to freezing rain out west and sleet.

"Beleaguered and tired" were the last words he used to explain how he felt, according to his spokesman George Arzt, who says Koch died Friday morning of congestive heart failure.

He was 88 and served as a congressman, a judge and never married. He was doing fine until the arrival of his time.

Edward Irving "Ed" Koch was a lawyer, a politician, and commentator. He served in the United States House of Representatives from 1969 to 1977 and three terms as mayor of New York City from 1978 to 1989.

Jackie Robinson burst onto the scene in 1947, breaking baseball's color barrier and bringing the Negro leagues' electrifying style of play to the Majors. Jackie quickly became baseball's top drawing card and a symbol of hope to millions of Americans. With Robinson as the catalyst, the Dodgers won six pennants in his 10 seasons.
