UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has left New York and is on his way to Iran to attend the 16th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).

“The Secretary-General looks forward to the Summit as an opportunity to work with the participating Heads of State and Government, including the host country, towards solutions on issues that are central to the global agenda, including follow-up to the Rio+20 Conference on Sustainable Development, disarmament, conflict prevention, and support for countries in transition,” the spokesperson told a news briefing at UN Headquarters in New York.

Change the Olympics?

The Olympics are considering the establishment of an age-limit for the athletes participating in basketball. The athletes would have to be under-23 years of age, with the option to have three older players on the roster. This policy is currently instated for the Olympic soccer teams. American basketball player LeBron James, age 27, stated to the Associated Press that he would not play in the 2016 Olympics if the rule is established.

Is There A New Steroid Era in Baseball?

Despite being banned from Major League Baseball in 1991, official league wide testing did not occur until 2003. MLB experienced a dramatic hike in home runs and offense in general throughout the 1990’s until it began to decline slowly over the past few years as more and more players got caught. It turned off fans, lost millions of young viewers, and basically destroyed two decades of history of America’s pastime. Everyone has their different opinion on what sports represents, by in our opinion sports represents “discipline, integrity, and hard work”.
