What causes the news media to spend so much time, effort, money and resources covering stories about celebrities, sleaze and sex?

It appears that contemporary journalism has been widely regarded as defective by many consumers, as well as critics representing a broad spectrum of opinions.

Why is it that the media has few defenders of its morbid appetite and its reliance on sex, sensationalism, sleaze and melodrama?

How does the world's media get away with not covering those issues which are more important?

This place originally opened November 10, 1940 at 10 East 60th Street
Then moved to 617West 57th Street in 1992, more than 50 years later
Later moved to West 34th St. & 11th Ave in 2001
Finally closed on July 1st 2007 and Opens again on 7/12/11

The Copacabana will officially reopen its doors on July 12, at 6pm with a performance by Willie Colon (Latin music legend and former Latino Trendsetter Award recipient)! The Copacabana will reopen in the old China Club, 268 W47th St. (just off of Eighth Ave) in Times Square. Buena suerte!

Power of Public Opinion

What ever happened to ethics? Why do so many people resort to lies? Political figures, athletes scientists, church leaders and so many others have been accused of lying in the past. Just about everyone who chooses to lie for his or her cause eventually gets caught up in their own lies.

If history is an indicator, perjury and obstruction of justice cases appear to send ripple effects to civility. An old friend of mine tells me that as he gets older he sees society appearing to break down.

Future NYC Terrorist Trial

A Somali suspect, who was allegedly tied to militants, was held and interrogated on U.S. Navy vessel for several months. He was reportedly captured by the American military back in April and then interrogated for months aboard a US ship without being read his Miranda rights or allowed to have a lawyer.
