Saturday August 2nd, 2014 Sweet Potato Pie Eating Contest at the Market:A pie eating contest is just one more reason why the New Rochelle Farmers Market is the place to be every Saturday.

Regulars at the BID downtown Farmers Market already know about the fabulous, as in really, really good desserts prepared weekly by Diana Scott-Sho, owner/baker of The Luscious Little Dessert Company. If you don’t believe us or your neighbors, her Lemon Chess Pie was described by the New York Times as “dangerously light on the tongue and had that fizzy lemonade aftermath that leaves you feeling at once sated and thirstier than before.” This Saturday, Luscious Little Dessert Company is sponsoring a pie eating contest.

A new survey finds our nation's capitol has lowest fatality rate, but unfortunately the northern Plains states and the South have the highest.

Our democratic system has broken down and our politicians are responsible for this criminal activity.
Partisan warfare on Capitol Hill continues as our representatives have failed to do their jobs by not raising the minimum wage, not extending unemployment insurance, not dealing with immigration, not serving our veterans... etc.

TROUBLE IN PARADISE

Submitted by ub on

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth... Today our entire world is a big mess and the international situation is getting worse.

if you think you're living in paradise on earth, consider the all the killings and suffering going on in Eastern Europe, Africa, Asia, America and Middle East.

The problem appears to me and perhaps others that nobody seems to care. What ever happened to peace, civility and tolerance?
