THE MOST SLANDEROUS EDITORIAL IN THE HISTORY OF THE NEW YORK TIMES.

This is another time. That happened in another era. You can say what you want. But it's useful to know, especially if you have Cuban roots, what The New York Times wrote after the death in combat of José Martí. History has probably buried the name of the man or woman whose poison pen defamed Martí. But it's a historical necessity to remember and reject what was written. Here it is:

Americans Losing Faith

Good God, and other phrases are frequently invoked in American public life. Indeed, there is no shortage of instances of official acknowledgement of the divine, from the appearance of “In God We Trust” on our currency to the phrase “one nation under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance.

To be sure, the vast majority of Americans still believe in God. But there are strong signs that many are less certain about this belief than in years past. And a small but growing minority of Americans say they do not believe in God at all.

Can anyone tell me when the Republicans had their first strong media candidate?

Back in 1952 was the first presidential election year when 40 million Americans owned TV sets. Gov. Thomas E. Dewey of New York, one of the architects of the effort to “draft” Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower, clearly suspected that TV was going to change everything.

When I first became a father, I would insist that my wife not smoke inside the car, while our children were present. Now, I must pass similar warnings along to all new parents and add that while some studies have come up with contradictory results, when it comes to cell phone radiation... Consumer beware!

This powerful industry is quick to point out that no direct links have yet been established between prolonged radio frequency exposure and a fatal illness, but it’s basic common sense to claim that extended smartphone radiation exposure can’t bring any benefits to anyone, young or old.

The big day is almost here... When friends cross the finish line, shaming you for still being in bed after noon.

It's the NYC Marathon, and whether you're in the race, watching from the sidelines or avoiding the entire athletic event altogether, you want to know about it.

The 26.2 mile race begins around 9A in Staten Island, then continues in waves through Brooklyn, up to Long Island City, across the Queensboro bridge, up First Ave to the Bronx and back down Fifth Ave to the finish line at Central Park.
