GUADALUPE DAY

On this special holy day, may the Virgin Mary, Patron Saint of The Americas Our Lady of Guadalupe pray for and protect all of us.

Our Lady of Guadalupe, also known as the Virgin of Guadalupe, is a Catholic title of Mary, mother of Jesus associated with a series of five Marian apparitions of a Mexican peasant named Juan Diego and his uncle, Juan Bernardino, which may have occurred in December 1531, when the Mexican territories were under the Spanish Empire.

As Our Lady of Guadalupe is celebrated, a church's story tells New York City's rich Hispanic history.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

While designing and decorating our graphic for Christmas, an assistant decided to be selective with the manger post this year.

This is the area associated with nativity. The Bible says that Mary and Joseph were forced by necessity to stay in a space for animals, and used a manger as a makeshift crib for the Baby Jesus.

Trying not to separate both groups while not offending anyone, a staff member said it may require removing Palestinians and or Jews. But if they did that all that remains are assorted animals, including a few sheep and jackasses.

REAP WHAT YOU SOW

Living a lifetime sowing good seeds leads to positive outcomes, but sowing bad ones has negative consequences.

The last democratically held US election resulted in this and since POTUS Joe Biden has been in The White House, Americans have seen positive results.

The Bible teaches that if we sow to please our own sinful nature, we will reap corruption. This principle is emphasized in Galatians 6:8, which says, “Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.”

MOTHER TERESA

Saint Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity convent is located in New York’s South Bronx, which is known to be the poorest area of the United States with a segregated population of African Americans and Latinos. This was the place I initially prayed at when I returned to NYC in the nineties to build News 12 The Bronx.

GOD BLESS THE CHILD

Pray for the children, St Benedict. He was a holy man who exercised the greatest influence on monasticism in the West.

He is included in the later Dialogues of Saint Gregory, but these are sketches to illustrate miraculous elements of his career.

NYC, NY SO NICE

As a longtime New Yorker, a former AP Bureau Chief, and a practicing Christian who attended Catholic schools I object, dear Lord.

William Donohue is also known as Billiy The Bully and claims the nearly $500,000 raise he received was part of an exit package approved by the board. However, he is still on the job and continues trying to bully the free press and specifically AP, my alma mater.  https://www.eurasiareview.com/20042023-nyc-is-indeed-crime-ridden-oped/
