Come enjoy a day of fitness and sports at the second Kids In Motion festival! New York City kids will participate in sports and games like street hockey, volleyball and more. This event will also feature Parks’ new mobile membership van, which can process Recreation Center memberships on the go!

This is a great opportunity to soak up energy in the sunshine and take advantage of Parks’ recreational programming. Kids can join the ‘Learn to Ride a Bike’ lessons, race through obstacle courses and work up a sweat in fitness classes.

UN EMERGENCY FUND PROVIDES NEARLY $10 MILLION

The United Nations humanitarian arm has provided nearly $10 million in fresh funding in recent weeks to assist Syrian refugees in Lebanon, Turkey and Jordan.

The allocation from the Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) will enable UN agencies and their partners support life-saving assistance, including shelter, emergency food aid, water and sanitation, and clothing, for Syrians uprooted by the fighting in their homeland.

US GAS PRICES

Friends and neighbors who are taking to the road this weekend will find rejoice. The prices at the pump are moving in a different direction. They are actually lower that they were last month.

US consumers are finally feeling less pinched by gas prices. The average national price for a gallon of gas is $3.54, which is 40 cents cheaper than the year's peak price in early April.
