The weather was sunny and bright for today's Columbus Day Parade in The Bronx. Unfortunately NYC Mayor Bloomberg was a no show, but our local area representatives and elected officials addressed the crowd, including NY Senator Jeff Klien, Councilman Jimmy Vacca and many other public officials, including US Congressman Joe Crowley were there. In fact they were giving away Congressman Crowley T-shirts, which were made not in USA, but in Nicaragua.

On Wednesday, October 12, Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. will officially launch the 17th annual “Tour De Bronx,” the largest free cycling event in New York State.
Participants will have the opportunity to see Bronx historic districts, vibrant neighborhoods, beautiful waterfront and great greenways while enjoying a 40- or 25-mile bike ride.
The folks at the Occupy Wall Street movement could very well take a few lessons and learn some tips from those at The Tea Party: The injustice protesting a new path to real relevance These supporters hope to push political discussion to the left in the way the Tea Party pushed it to the right. Where will it end, nobody knows!

This week, the people who many Republicans wanted to run, finally declared they would not run and those who are still in the race are not making extraordinary gains.
In a statement to supporters, Palin, who was the 2008 vice presidential nominee said she would not seek the Republican nomination for the Presidency by entering what is already a crowded field. Instead, she vows to be more effective helping GOP win office from the nation's governors to congressional seats as well as the top job.
The movement called Occupy Wall Street says protesters plan to push out of Zuccotti park and march into Union Square, sometime this afternoon. Meanwhile, NYC Mayor Bloomberg warns that if they stay, there will be arrests.
This growing group will soon bust out of its downtown digs - and test NYPD's patience mid afternoon by squatting in a city park.
