NOBODY LIKES BUSY BODIES

They can be fat, skinny, tall, short, young, old, male, female, clerk or senior manager, busybodies come in all shapes, sizes, industries and job titles. That's part of their skill.

Individuals who are regularly stressed out by inconsiderate people around the are more likely to keep that stress with them. and pass it on to whoever is unfortunate enough to be near them.

People who experience such incivility keep the stress, negative emotion and perceived ostracism that results from those experiences, which then affects more than their daily lives – it also creates problems for their health and their well being.

This phrase has come to us via quite a tortuous route. Anthelme Brillat-Savarin wrote, in Physiologie du Gout, ou Meditations de Gastronomie Transcendante, 1826: Tell me what you eat and I will tell you what you are.

In an essay entitled Concerning Spiritualism and Materialism, 1863/4, Ludwig Andreas Feuerbach wrote: 'man is what he eats'.

But now that all our efforts have proven unable, or incapable of convincing that Syrian dictator to adopt reforms, Americans must insist that our leaders formulate solid plans for that entire region.
