The cut of $5 billion for fiscal year 2014 equals to a $5.00 a day per recipient 21 fewer meals a month for a family of four, or 16 fewer meals for a family of three, according to the liberal Center on Budget and Policy Priorities.

Did anyone see what Mike Bloomberg was dressed like last night? Was it as LAME DUCK MIKE?

Three time Mike was elected NYC Mayor and has continued in office during an extremely long 12 year period. Some New York voters can't wait for election day and for a successor's assumption of office.

Lame Ducks tend to have little political power because others are less inclined to cooperate with them. But remember that lame ducks are not facing the consequences of their future actions, giving them greater freedom to issue unpopular decisions or appointments.

NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg's three term and 12 year reign is finally wrapping up, with less than a week before election day. Some of Mike's laurels include 450 miles of bike lanes, the creation of seating areas at locations that once held only cars, a smoking ban in restaurants, as well as bars and the requirement of food chains to post calorie counts, also 311, control of the public school system... etc.
