No Coattails Kicked Tails

Submitted by ub on

Alabama Firebrand judge Roy Moore won the Republican primary runoff for US Senate kicking the butt of an appointed incumbent backed by President Donald Trump Vice President Mike Pence and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

Moore, a Bible-thumping preacher who has been removed from the bench several times vowed to return the knowledge of God and the Constitution of the United States to Congress.

The tendency for political party leaders to attract votes for other candidates of the same party in an election is supposed to be victorious for candidates who will often win because they're “on the coattails” of the Senate majority leader, the vice president, and the president. Not any longer for Trump's #GOP Posse. http://town-hall.doseofnews.com #TrumpPosse

So much for political coattails and is he tired of winning yet? Is this STRANGE #GOP politics and doesn't it also seem that @POTUS and @VP are turning into Amos 'n' Andy because no one believes or takes it seriously. https://youtu.be/griMGY-JLvo and they keep losing time and again? https://youtu.be/ZmnOJSUkjrA

Help Puerto Rico

American citizens who live in Puerto Rico are making plans for an exodus to the US mainland, searching for safety and security following the human disaster caused by hurricane Maria. Americans in Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands are danger and need our help now. Puerto Rico governor pleads with Congress: "We need more help" http://hill.cm/rIp3of9

In my City Island neighborhood alone, one proud Puerto Rican veteran, who we spoke with is opening his home for family members who are arriving, including his mother, aunts, and cousins. The Bronx is located in the northernmost of NYC, with an overwhelming number of Latinos. In fact, The US Census says the NYC borough is the most diverse area in our entire nation.

Meanwhile, as Congress considers dealing with the devastation, they are pushing for quick approval of relief funding and bracing for a political financing brawl for these American territories. Donald Trump finally notices Puerto Rico—long enough to blame them for their problems https://www.dailykos.com/story/2017/9/26/1701674/-Donald-Trump-finally-…

Ivan Petrovich Pavlov was a Russian physiologist who during the 1890s was looking at salivation in dogs in response to being fed when he noticed that his dogs would begin to salivate whenever he entered the room, even when he was not bringing them food.

As we celebrate the birthday of this behavior modification researcher, known for classical conditioning let us take a look at some of the recent actions which have occurred most recently in media manipulation. Pavlov was known for saying -Don't become a mere recorder of facts but try to penetrate the mystery of their origin.

Where is Nambia?

Where in the world is Nambia? Someone should have told @POTUS that Namibia is located in SW Africa. The capital is Windhoek, with a coastal town named Swakopmund.

Perhaps he should visit Google, or read the encyclopedia instead of just wasting time on Twitter rants. We're just saying and suggesting.

The State of Sanctuary

A sanctuary city limits cooperation with the federal government's effort to enforce immigration law. Sanctuary cities reduce the fear of deportation and possible family break-up among those who are in the country illegally so that such people will be more willing to report crimes, use health and social services, and enroll their kids in school.

These policies prohibit public employees from questioning people about their immigration status and refuses requests by immigration authorities to detain people beyond their release date if they are jailed for breaking local law.

Legalization of Marijuana

Do pros prevail over cons? The allowance to use cannabis legally is great news but the dose really matters.
The forbidden fruit is sweet. This adage is definitely true about a lot of issues, and marijuana is
not an exception. In order to improve the situation with this drug abuse, the number of the US
states legalized the use of marijuana for adults. To everyone’s surprise, the outcomes after the
first years were rather positive. For instance, in 2014, in the state of Washington, the number of
law violations decreased by 63% while marijuana-related convictions reduced by 81%. A good
