Like Amazon, Facebook and Google have become Internet Utilities, so too has Twitter. Twitter chose the best time to go public, while the stock market is surging due to the extraordinarily easy monetary policies from the Federal Reserve.

That translates to one less day every day and once the new NYC Mayor takes office, Bill de Blasio will have two months to plan his first budget.

One he gets sworn in, his first challenge is retroactive pay increases from public sector unions that could cost New Yorkers around $5 billion.

There's stop-and-frisk, a Bloomberg-era police tactic which led to racial profiling of young black and Latino men, then there are the campaign platforms like income inequality, jobs... etc.

NYC voters have finally elected their new Mayor. His name is Bill De Blasio and his victory signaled that the public was anxious to say goodbye to Mike Bloomberg's era.

Mayor Mike is a billionaire technocrat whose amazing wealth often made him appear insensitive to the plight of those struggling to make it in the Big Apple.

Bloomberg's popularity began to significantly sink after taking on a bully pulpit attitude and buying himself a third term by shoving a law down the throats of New Yorkers, which allowed Mayor Mike to skirt previously set term limits.

Voters in The Garden State have decided to re-elect their heavy weight Republican Governor. Chris Christie cruised to a NJ victory and now appears focused on a 2016 GOP Presidential candidacy.

The NJ Governor's victory underlines his support from Democrats, independents as well as minorities. Similarly, George W. Bush was re-elected as governor in Texas back in 1998. . This month, Christie will assume the chairmanship of the GOP Governors Association, giving him a solid platform for his national campaign.

After 12 years of independent Mike Bloomberg in office, New York City voters have elected Democrat Bill de Blasio. His victory comes as a severe disappointment to Republicans and their light weight candidate Joe Lhota. This election signals a leftward shift for the city after the long and highly paid for Bloomberg re-elections.

This means that Democrats are back in control of the nation’s largest city for the first time in two decades. The 1,200 polling places throughout NYC experienced a lower than usual turnout according to city election officials.
