Today is not only Thursday, March 23, the 82nd of 2017 with 283 long ones left, right ones, and perhaps wrong days to come. It may turn out to do or die a day for Donald Trump and his Make America Great way.
A huge political test for President Trump and GOP, US House of Representatives are expected to vote on their plan #Trumpcare, or #Ryancare to replace the Affordable Care Act, also known as #Obamacare.
Ironically, it retains some parts of Obamacare, prohibiting insurance companies from denying coverage to sick people, however, it doesn't punish people who don't buy insurance and phases out the ACA's expansion of Medicaid for low-income Americans.
This #AHCA GOP bill faces opposition from Democrats as well as Republicans, who claim they have enough "no" votes to stop it following frigid and frenzied forceful negotiations. However, if this bill passes the House, it will probably be amended by US Senators, where Republicans continue to hold a 52-48 majority. Short of support, GOP looks for the arts of the deal with a crucial bloc of conservatives, the first major legislative test of Trump's presidency.
Why is it that on the anniversary of the Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare, the Republicans are still trying to kill the bill?
Did the GOP place a target on Obamacare long ago when they insisted on killing it to show their rich supporters they cared more for them than the rest of Americans?
