Year of The Dog

2018 is the Chinese Year of the Brown Earth Dog. This Lunar New Year starts from February 16th, 2018 and ends on February 4th, 2019. Find out how we will fare in this Dog year when it comes to love, luck, relationships, finance, money, jobs, and health.

And since the new year is here with it comes delicacies like dumplings, dim sum, fried rice, and plenty of other delicious meals. We celebrated New Year Eve tasting foods that bring luck, prosperity and good fortune.

Millions of Asians worldwide are celebrating a New Year, ushering in the year of The Dog. The largest celebrations will be held in China, where 1.3 billion people visit family and friends, but there are festivities in many countries, including Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, and Korea.

The New Year celebrations last 15 days, beginning by cleaning the house to sweep away bad luck and culminating in the spectacular Lantern Festival. Popular traditions include fireworks, the dragon dance, the giving of money in red envelopes and eating traditional foods. My wife and I sent them to our little ones.

I like Chinese food. It's good. What did you have in that picture? Was it homemade? Did you get it at a restaurant? Was it spicey? Was it savory? Did it come back on you? Eggrolls make me gassy. Do they make you gassy? Is it an aphrodisiac? Is there MSG in it? Looks delicious.

These were all prepared by shy individuals, from China and Taiwan. I managed to sneak a photo I took of the group on my Instagram page. RobertoSoto39
