As my journalism colleagues CD Jaco and Jay Dow point out, history may repeat itself, if we allow it to do so.
"Regardless of your political leaning, I am a firm believer in acknowledging the events of 'yesterday' - that is, history...and how they may (or may not) influence or guide us today.
This is NOT about offering any specific opinion on #DonaldTrump. When assigned (under my regular duties as a journalist), I have and will continue to report on this presidential race. So let's be clear on that.
Instead, I am sincerely interested in the current 'climate' in the country, and the similarities it shares with another difficult time from our past.
George Wallace is an unforgettable figure in American politics. If you are not familiar with his story, you should be.
But again, I'm interested in exploring the societal concerns that ultimately crafted the debate over Wallace's political relevance.
