THE OLDEST PROFESSION

Submitted by ub on

it has been said the world’s oldest profession is hunting or farming, but I like to say that it is teaching wisdom and sharing knowledge.

Some believe Greedflation is responsible for the hike in the cost of living in recent years, and teachers have felt the greatest squeeze.

Unfortunately, financial pressures have long affected adjuncts, and substitute teachers, whose pay often falls well below a livable wage. But even those fortunate enough to have a tenured position might find themselves safe from economic forces.

Throughout my career, I have focused on training and media startups and turnaround projects in several languages. I believe in multicultural diversity with representative inclusion. I lead by example, roll up my sleeves, and keep an open mind to new ideas and concepts. I try to be a motivational, affiliation coach, visionary, servant, and pacesetter. I have served as a government manager and, as such, received clearance.

For decades, I have served as a multilingual information creator who has provided leadership and support to nonprofit, and commercial. US Government, academic organizations, policymakers, and foundations, while working to serve everyone, including historically marginalized communities.

Suppose you're looking for an advocacy-focused, multilingual, and visual storyteller to conceptualize, produce, and bring to life digital content in various media. I have it.

As a Marketing, Engagement, Content, and Storytelling executive, I can change the conversations in a couple of languages and through the lens of equity. As a builder, creative partner, and digital storyteller, I  set content strategy, produce channel-specific content, and support organizational growth across various campaigns. I can also spearhead content creation that translates strategic priorities, accomplishments, and messaging into compelling big-picture storylines and editorial features that advance the brand reputation and perceptions with their target audiences. I will be responsible for executing solutions for various creative challenges – developing a clear vision and communicating concepts and ideas to internal and external stakeholders.

Working on advocacy and racial equity issues is fundamental to me. I’m all about creating and transforming conversations around race equity. I am open to engaging in this convo in a big way. I’m doing this right now online. Regardless, I’m a self-starter with a demonstrated track record of creating compelling, mission-driven content with racial orientation being top of mind. Plus, I'm adept at crafting exciting content for different audiences and highly effective in building trust and maintaining solid relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Attention to detail and an uncanny ability to elevate diverse stakeholders' voices, stories, cultures, and priorities are my specialty. Plus, I have a keen sense of judgment, can quickly identify relevant and trending topics ahead of the curve, and have the sharp journalistic skills needed to weave meaningful stories into strategic dissemination and, ultimately, action.

This is an excellent place for me to land in an uncertain information landscape. I’ll get to work at a greater good organization and apply my multilingual storytelling experience to change real-world disparities. In short, it is a - Win-Win for all.
