The following words were just delivered by United Nations Secretary-General at the Pacific Islands Forum...

I am here to focus on two fundamental challenges for your region and for our world: first, the increasingly severe impacts of climate change, and second, the deepening threats to the world’s oceans and seas.

Excellencies,

As you know all too well, the Pacific region is on the frontline of climate change.

That means you are also our important allies in the fight against it.

In the days ahead, I will also visit Tuvalu and Vanuatu.

RIP Tim Conway

Tim Conway won four Emmy Awards on Carol Burnett's TV variety show and voiced the role of Barnacle Boy for "Spongebob Squarepants," has died at 85.

American TV viewers are heartbroken as they mourn the death of Tim Conway. He was one in a million comic, who was not only a brilliant comedian but as a loving human being. Thomas Daniel "Tim" Conway was an American actor, writer, director, and comedian.

RIP Doris Day

American sweetheart Doris Day has died at the age of 97 in Carmel Valley, CA. Ms. Day was an actress, singer, and animal welfare activist. After she began her career as a big band singer in 1939, her popularity increased with her first hit recording "Sentimental Journey" a song that was written by Les Brown (1912-2001) and the lyrics were written by Bud Green (1897-1981). It coincidentally was released at the end of WWII and became the unofficial homecoming song for WWII veterans.

There’s no happy ending when they burn them all down. Throughout “Game of Thrones,” episodes were the ones with the most active and mind-bending moments. And so it went when the Last War unfolded broadly in the way most may have expected, with the Dragon Queen laying waste to King’s Landing.

As we celebrate the marvelous mothers around the world who inspire us, let us honor the intelligence, strength, and compassion of the women you love by paying tribute to these superhuman beings. Shout out to my daughters, Natasha, Sabrina and their mother, who are not only wonderful mothers but super working women.

Whether they go by MOM, Mother, Mommy, Mami or Mama they are members of a Tribe of 24/7 MOMS who have experienced motherhood in all it's scary yet exciting, challenging and rewarding experiences full of ups and downs.

Mothers Know Best

Mothers know best and we all should know better. Women are smarter than men and have already proved it over and again.

Moms are struggling in the workforce while #USA is the only developed nation that doesn't offer paid leave on a national basis.
When will America catch up to the rest of the east, south north and west?

Salary parity and affordable childcare should not be out of reach because while Dad is being paid more, MoM does most and must receive moral support a great deal of gratitude from society, while also keeping in mind that every day is Mother Day.

Positive Energy Prevails

Throughout my lifetime, I have known wiser, memorable and inspirational older individuals. My wonderful parents Margarita, Antonio, my brothers, my children, and the best grandkids any proud grandpa would ever want. Also there are the other members of my family who have taught me very important life lessons.

As I keep living, learning, and reflecting on blessings around me I see the key to longevity is to keep learning and moving forward at a steady pace.
