NYC SLASHINGS

Submitted by ub on

Dozens of random slashing incidents have residents of The Big Apple seeing red. NYPD officials are losing the battle with a double digit spike in knife assaults so far this year, blaming copycats, gang initiations and hordes of mentally ill homeless people.

The latest victim was stabbed this morning and the medley includes a 71-year-old grandma riding a D train, a 16-year-old Chinese exchange student walking to school in Queens, and a 30-year-old bus commuter in Brooklyn.

Washed Away?

Our Coast, Our Future is a collaborative, user-driven project focused on providing coastal California resource and land use managers and planners locally relevant, online maps and tools to help understand, visualize, and anticipate vulnerabilities to sea level rise and storms.

The group has mapped what a rise in sea levels would do to the Bay area and it appears the locations of several of the world’s largest and most popular tech companies will wind up underwater because they have been built way too close to the coast.

SMELL OF ENERGY?

Submitted by ub on

Global scientific researchers are suggesting that manure may save the world from destruction, along with other crap humans routinely generate and throw away.

The message is loud and clear. Humans have long been producing a shit load of excrement and we have mistakenly been thinking that this crap is useless.

Feces power alone will not solve the world's energy challenges. But it looks like our European neighbors have woken up and smelled the aroma, realizing there no point letting all that crap go to waste.

The health of our planet may well depend on it.

If we want something, we have to go after it and tell our story. To be real, accountable and bold.

I want you to let cimages.me know what topics need to be covered. Let's talk about topics that no one else talks about.

Human interest stories are empowering when shared authentically, with accountability. Humans are empowered by authenticity and inspired by bold vulnerability.

Eight members from one Ohio family were targeted by an executioner, or a murder team and investigators still do not have any suspects in custody.

Authorities believe one gunman may be behind the killings in Peebles, Ohio, and that he is on the loose, though a "person of interest" was detained in another community last night.

On this day... Lets walk. or ride our bikes along the way.

A recent US Census Bureau study reveals that 76.4 percent of Americans drove to work alone on daily commutes.

According to the Union of Concerned Scientists, about one-fifth of all U.S. emissions are caused by our automobiles. The group also estimates that one gallon of gasoline emits about 24 pounds of CO2 and other harmful gasses into the atmosphere. Imagine the amount of emissions would be saved if just a fraction of Americans walked, biked or carpooled to work on Earth Day.
