They say that timing is everything, but could you believe NASA's timing? The space agency announced earlier this week that water possibly exists on Mars. On the same week, 20th Century Fox released a major motion picture about space exploration and the lack of water on Mars.

In recent years, we’ve lost our sense of wonder about space flight and that we are regularly sending astronauts off to planets and bringing them back. And that is the story of The Martian, the new science-fiction film from director Ridley Scott.

There may be some trouble in paradise. The above coordinates refer to an iconic NYC Yacht Club, which some claim may be facing difficulties, but that really depends on who you listen to, and whether you decide to believe everything you read, or hear. At a time of escalating conflicts, violent extremism, displacement and humanitarian need, the courage and determination of Mahatma Gandhi, whose birthday we celebrate today, is an inspiration for us all.

Gandhi showed the power of peacefully opposing oppression and hatred. He showed how cooperation and tolerance can prevails over injustice. He demonstrated the great value of the rule of law in breaking vicious cycles of vengeance.

As a democracy, we grieve for those who lost their lives, for the families who lost their loved ones, and for the community that lost its sense of peace. Since the December 2012 shooting in Newtown, CT, there have been at least 142 school shootings in US. This is an average of nearly one a week. Why is there little being done, other talk and empty promises from our leaders?

While HURRICANE JOAQUIN continues to produce
cloud tops colder than -80C in the eyewall, the eye has not become
