Resident from the NY Metropolitan area are chasing the third day of 90+ degree days, something the area has not seen in a couple of years. The high temperatures have cause outages and disrupted train service for thousandths.

The northeastern US sweltered with a scorching summer heat wave, complete with humidity. stagnant, sticky air and nearly no winds to speak of for the needed relief. As as you can see, this heat is not exclusive to the NE.

It is US laws which allowed Donald Trump to file for corporate bankruptcy four times, The first time was in 1991, then in 1992, later in 2004 and finally in 2009.

These bankruptcies were connected to over-leveraged casino and hotel properties, which are now operated under the banner of Trump Entertainment Resorts.

The Cuban embassy re-opens in Washington, D.C. for the first time in 54 years. The Cuban flag will rise in Washington, D.C., for the first time in over five decades on Monday in the latest step toward normalized relations between the two countries.

The flag-raising will be part of a daylong series of events commemorating the opening of a full Cuban embassy in Washington, about two miles north of the White House.

PARK WALK AND TALK

NYPD has announced their Park, Walk and Talk initiative for 2015. The Park, Walk and Talk initiative is designed to allow Officers time to walk designated neighborhoods in the city and make contact with the residents.

The goals are to better acquaint officers with residents, address concerns and answer questions. The neighborhoods the initiative will occur in, will rotate throughout the year.

The NWS Storm Prediction Center expects severe weather to be possible on Sunday from the Northeast to the Central U.S. The area of greatest concern extends from western New England to the Midwest. In this area, localized flash flooding, damaging winds and hail are the primary threats.
