Two months of heavy winter snow covering the area and those brutal bouts of arctic air are now endangering the local wildlife.

These animals are under serious stress. Many are in danger of starving because their food sources are covered with snow, or ice and their sources for the water they need to survive are frozen.

GETTING OLD

If you are one of millions worldwide, who feel that time is catching up with you, then move faster. But is this is futile and age has overtaken you, left you in the dust and your years seem to be going too fast for comfort? Just sit back and enjoy the fact that you're not ancients, but just set in your old ways.

We're number one. Brrrr... 1 degree temperatures is now a new record low for the area, which was set this morning. It was 1 degree at 7A and the old record low was 9 degrees, set in 2007.

The record for Saturday is also 9 degrees and tonight's low is expected to be 10, so that record is also in jeopardy. Some schools are closed, others are opening on delayed schedule, citing icy roads and cold temperatures. Yonkers schools are closed today due to road conditions.

COPS GONE WILD?

Americans have witnessed multiple incidents of police officers killing unarmed civilians on both coats of this country and supposedly for various reasons. One of the most recent US incidents occurred in Los Angeles and some wonder if a public safety motto "To Protect and To Serve" needs to be updated.

Another investigation is underway after Los Angeles police fatally shot a homeless man on LA's skid row, during an encounter that was caught on video.
