Next week, NYC Transportation Committee Chair James Vacca will convene a committee hearing to discuss road conditions around New York City. The winter of 2010-2011 saw a dramatic spike in the number of potholes, and while the number of potholes is down this year, it still takes nearly a week--6.8 days--to fill a single pothole, according to the Preliminary Mayor's Management Report.
The Committee also expects to discuss the merits of using recycled asphalt to pave city streets, as the Department of Transportation expands recycled asphalt operations at its new plant in Queens.
