Macy's Closing
The American Luxury department store chain was founded in 1858 by Rowland Hussey Macy. It became a division of the Cincinnati-based Federated Department Stores in 1994 renamed Macy's in 2007, as a Bloomingdale affiliate.
The chain is alerting local employees to the closings of a number of stores in advance of its investor meeting, at which it plans to outline its new three-year strategy to combat a weary retail environment.
