Why I Chose to Hyphenate my Name (After 6 Years of Marriage)

Choosing what to do about last names when a couple gets married is often a stressful
situation. Whose name will you pick? Will you hyphenate? Will this become a competition for
“best name”? Is it even worth potentially fighting over it? For me, it wasn’t an easy decision.
When I got married, I took my husband’s last name with no discussion, that was a mistake. But
after six years of marriage, here are the reasons that I finally decided to hyphenate:

Stay Away Irma

As the humanitarian disaster continues in Texas following Hurricane #Harvey, Irma comes along headed for #TheUS East coast. Meanwhile, forecasters are predicting #TheLaborDayWeekend to be hot and dry in the West, cool and some rain in the East.

Out in the Atlantic, Irma went from a tropical storm to major hurricane over a 12-hour span this week and is headed toward landfall on the east coast of the US after it passes north of #PuertoRico and #Haiti, #TheDominican Republic, though one model shows #Cuba in its path. Looks like a powerful and durable storm.

Lies can be extremely dangerous, depending on the context. Especially, when an elected leader accuses his predecessor of wiretapping during the elections, and after money, time and energies are wasted, officials announce the accusations are false.

After months of empty lies, US Justice Department officials have confirmed what many already knew. There is absolutely no proof of accusations about President Obama wiretapping. Big mouths are just that, they grandstand with false narratives in hopes folks will forget about it the BS later.

Where are the necessary EPA officials? Are they missing in action after Texas floods? Americans need to be monitoring this very closely as fears grow of pollution from oil refineries after #HurricaneHarvey. There are flooded toxic waste sites and a burning plant full of secret chemicals. WTF?

You're The Boss

Begin with baby steps... An infant is a more formal term for a "Baby", the very young offspring of any proud human being. I know, I have kids and grandchildren.

We've heard that all a baby does is eat, pi, poop, cry, and sleep. It may sound simple, but chances are it won't be that way all the time, or ever. Knowing what to expect from our newborns will make our first days together with them a little less overwhelming, or at least we can try.

But remember that ultimately, baby needs to adapt to your schedule and not the other way around.
