Perhaps you did not know it, or you may not have heard it yet, but the World Cup is over. It does not matter whatever the outcome is on Sunday, it will not mean a thing. So much so that City Island Images has learned that Associated Press Television News has decided to closed down its operation before the weekend.

Germany will most likely do what just about everyone expects it to do and crush Argentina after overwhelming Brazil 7 to 1. This FIFA World Cup will most likely be remembered by the rout that Team Germany gave to Team Brazil in their own home turf.

As this Summer continues to develop, Mother Nature is showing no mercy. The West sinks deeper into drought conditions and severe thunderstorms blanket the Plains to the Mid-Atlantic region.

Last night weather conditions were surprising to say the least. According to forecasters at our National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center, they expect a slight risk of severe weather on Wednesday in the central Plains. The area of greatest concern is in eastern Colorado, western Kansas and southwest Nebraska. The main threat with these storms will be damaging winds and hail.

Hurricanes, cyclones, and typhoons are all the same weather. They are called different names in different places.

In the Atlantic and Northeast Pacific, the term “hurricane” is used. The same type of disturbance in the Northwest Pacific is called a “typhoon” and “cyclones” occur in the South Pacific and Indian Ocean.

The Obama administration seeks billions in additional funding to handle the the immigration emergency. Children continue to cross the borer and not all of them survive in 100 degree heat.

For supporters of immigration, it’s a difficult moment to be optimistic. The White House has declared the legislative effort for immigration reform dead, while looking for more than $3 billion to throw at border control.
