World Bee Day

World Bee Day is celebrated every year on May 20 because on this day Anton Janša, the pioneer of beekeeping, was born in 1734.

The purpose of international day is to acknowledge the role of bees as pollinators for the global ecosystem. Consistently on this day, the public should be focused on the significance of saving honey bees.

To learn about the importance of World Bee Day I decided to be with my well-behaved neighbors on City Island, New York.

HELP - While some global regions keep drying up, other areas worldwide will continue to experience extreme flooding dangers.

The United Nations climate report predicts most of the sea ice in the Arctic Ocean will melt by 2035 leading to a complete lack of ice in the Summer season. Since polar bears, penguins, and other animals won't have places to hunt, they'll move inland into parts of Alaska and Canada.

We like to call them the grey days of Winter, but it is still Autumn, when the leaves Fall and the skies have not turned gray  just jet.

By the way, did you know that Gray and Grey are both common spellings of the color between black and white. Gray is more frequent in American English, whereas grey is more common in British English.

The weekend started out with rain near the coast but a wintry mix of rain, sleet, snow, and at times freezing rain, for the interior within our forecast region.
