Please join me, my friends, my colleagues, and a few pros for a media reunion in The Bronx. It’s my birthday, so let’s party.

We begin at NYPL at high noon and end with a bang at sunset. Together, each of you help build many news media organizations that deliver fair and objective journalism. We do this during a trying time in our nation’s history and I believe what we accomplish is outstanding.

My long and ecclesiastical career with startups and turnaround projects in different languages was never pressure, but pleasure and privilege to build multiple media outlets.

I was working in the NYC AP Bureau when a friend and neighbor stopped by to hitch a ride home, but I explained that I was working and would not be returning home for a while.

First celebrated in 1966, Kwanzaa is a celebration of Black culture and African diasporic unity.

Each day of Kwanzaa is dedicated to a principle to be reflected on and celebrated. Today marks the start of the seven days that conclude on January 1st with an affirmation of the importance of faith. The diversity of our county, where more than 100 languages and cultures are represented, makes us truly special.
