A CITY ISLAND JEWEL

One of City Island's charming shops is owned by Bonnie Riconda. Her jewelry design philosophy is based on her love of brilliant, bright colors, a light feeling of airiness, and of all things truly hand-created by the artist.

Bonnie uses no fabricated parts, but wraps all gemstones and beads by hand, and even makes her own hoops and french wires. Precious and semi-precious gemstones, Austrian crystals, freshwater pearls, and other stones are used in combination to create a wonderful palette of colors in her original designs.

MOTHERS DAY WISH

If you take a moment, like I should have done long ago and far away - To think about it and analyze what mom truly wants for mother's day, you may arrive and the following conclusion and realization.

It's not a visit to the beauty parlor, or spa for a manicure, pedicure, massage or a facial.

It is not Sunday brunch with mimosas, not a shopping day!

As I should have realized long before I did, what mom really and truly wants, I believe is some basic, love, peace, quiet and alone time to show appreciation.

It is too late for me, but it may not come too late for you.
