This day is National College Decision Day because it is a date when many colleges pressure students to put up a large amount of money next to where their mouths are.
If they wish to attend school this the fall, these institutions want to lock you into their web.

Most community colleges and some four-year institutions do not pressure students to adhere to this cutoff date. But if and when college award letters arrive, financial experts warn that prospective students should take a hard look at what's really being offered.

April 30th marks the anniversary of the first scheduled television broadcast which featured Franklin D. Roosevelt's address to open the 1939 World’s Fair in New York.

The New York World's Fair opened as FDR became the first U.S. president to appear on television when he was shown on opening day at the New York World's Fair.

At the time, only few households owned the luxury of a television, so NBC positioned TVs around the NYC area for public access. Watch a clip of that historical first broadcast:

The first Latina elected to Congress, Republican Florida Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen announced that she's retiring after more than three decades in elected office.

Ros-Lehtinen became the first GOP member of the House to support same-sex marriage. She proposes legislation making US funding for the UN contingent on extensive reform. Her bill will also call for the United States to withdraw from the UNHRC, and she says that Israel is the only country on the council's permanent agenda, while abuses by rogue regimes like Cuba, China, and Syria are ignored.

President George Washington was home-schooled until he was 16 years old, at which point he went to map out the boundaries of Virginia.

In 1752, he inherited his family's fortune. Though he had over 100 slaves, he was disliked the practice of slavery and often did manual labor on his land.

In 1753, Washington, a major in the Virginian militia, attacked the French and Indians. After he returned from the skirmish, he married Martha Dandridge Custis, a wealthy widow, which made him one of the wealthiest leaders in the state.

There is an anonymous folk song dating to the mid-20th century referring to beer, and not bricks. But there is a fictional story about a wall that Trump first claimed Mexico would pay for a build, then said US taxpayers would be billed and now who knows what will happen?

No more bricks for the wall, no more talk of a wall? Go to the store and buy some more, 99 days but no bricks on his wall.

As White House officials frantically spin and sprint towards the "100 Days" goal, are there issues which have been reversed or rejected? You betcha, as one so-called friend likes to say.

Principle's Office

The President has reported to the principle's office immediately since he is desperately seeking any substantial legislative activity before his self-imposed 100th days in office deadline.

He now plans to unveil the outline in principle of proposed tax reforms plan while Congress is concerned about the budget deficits. White house toppers refuse to discuss the details, only to say they seek to cut the corporate tax rate and simplify the tax codes.
