Social Media

1. CONTENT CURATION
Content Curation is the process social media sites use to gather and present content (articles, links, videos, images, etc.) that are relevant to a specific topic or a user’s area of interest. Content can be selected manually by a person designated as a curator, or it can be gathered through automated programs that track things like upvoting, likes, or analysis of a user’s previous online activity.

Grilling usually involves a significant amount of direct, radiant heat, and tends to be used for food and now for public figures.

American Education

The US' top official overseeing student loans has now resigned, citing #WhiteHouse hostility to protecting borrowers. The US report cards for schools and school districts have been a sore source of controversy, which will only grow when the nation starts receiving overall grades this fall.

As the new school year approaches, voters should keep in mind that education funding remains on life support, while many schools are crumbling, but corporations received a huge #GOP tax cut, which was primarily pocketed by executives and shareholders, with little trickle down to workers.

PS Education

NO Not BS, but PS as in Public Service. There are activists and organizers who have been extremely effective. One individual comes to mind, but there are others and many more are urgently needed.

Some public servants perfected the craft on the streets, responding to injustices by helping people to reach their goals.
Let's create an opportunity with an eye toward training folks to solve real-world problems in hopes to spread these ideas.

Lee Leaving Univision

Or perhaps it is the other way around and Univision is showing Isaac Lee Possin the exit sign. This may be long overdue for the former Spanish language media executive. The so-called brain behind Fusion has probably caused plenty of confusion as he leaves the former Spanish International Network.

Always Check It Out

Submitted by ub on

False information spreads like wildfire across social networks, particularly during primaries, midterm, and general elections.

I learned a long time ago never to believe everything you're told or read until I become engaged in checking all facts. I reject terms like fake news, witch hunt, the enemy of the people.

Never has it been easier than now to do just that. This is the reason I emphasize to all my students to become involved in an exhaustive fact-checking process. Everyone should be doubling down on facts.

Educate-Labor?

Who despite evidence to the contrary has tweeted confirmation that he is, in fact, a stable genius and is now proposing to merge US Department of Labor and Education? Is this a sinister plan to destroy both agencies?

Alcohol Kills

Submitted by ub on

According to The World Health Organization, alcohol has killed, continues to kill, and keeps killing more folks than any other legal substance. Alcohol kills way more Americans than opiates. Where's the outrage?

Worldwide, more than 3.3 million deaths a year were due to harmful use of alcohol, says WHO. Alcohol consumption can not only lead to dependence but also increases people’s risk of developing more than 200 diseases including liver cirrhosis and some cancers. In addition, harmful drinking can lead to violence and injuries.

The American Way

Truth and justice is The American Way. This has always been a great nation and it will continue to be one, no matter if anyone else sees it differently. We must never allow our great future to rush in a daze.

Americans are better than this. We should stop paying attention to bogus tweets, fake news, false statements, or made up statistics which are dividing friends and families as well as attracting the ire from our closest allies.

These are the possibilities. Folks are spreading deliberate lies, or are morons with no idea what they're saying.
