Who is really well represented in immigration court? The odds of obtaining representation for newly arrived immigrants appearing in federal court has varied over the years. However, their rights appear to be slipping in recent years.

Also, immigrants in detention centers are often hundreds of miles away from legal assistance. Only a tiny percentage of detained immigrants have lawyers, leaving them to stay in the #USA and fend for themselves.

Why does the GOP continually insist on counterproductive practices of deliberately preventing a planned political process? Have Republicans lost their way and are they one step closer to tearing up the USA? Why would they be allowed to succeed?

Republicans have looked the other way on Trump’s scandals and misdeeds, ignoring their majority oversight responsibilities and undermining the entire idea of checks and balances. Our forefathers established our nation under God to embrace a mindset that all men and women are created equal and that no one is above the law.

POTUS # Trump fought the law and the law won after a Federal Judge offers the strongest defense yet of DACA by ruling not only that the Trump administration must keep the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program in place but that officials must begin accepting new applications again in 90 days.

The Republican appointee held that administration officials had not sufficiently explained the rationale for halting the program.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions told Customs and Border Patrol personnel at the United States-Mexico border in Nogales, Arizona that he has issued the attached memo to United States Attorneys that mandates the prioritization of criminal immigration enforcement. The memo directs federal prosecutors to focus on particular offenses that, if aggressively charged and prosecuted, can help prevent and deter illegal immigration.

Emergency Quota Act of 1921 was considered to be an important legislation from the early twentieth century. This legislation utilized immigration statistics to determine a maximum number of immigrants allowed to enter US borders from each nation or region.

Unfortunately, the numbers were skewed to favor immigration from western European nations while severely curbing immigration from areas perceived to be undesirable. These immigration quotas would change over the years, but would put a lid on fair immigration policy.
