For nearly one hundred years musical artists in the USA have endured their songs being banned for one reason or another.

As an English language song and a poignant social critique, “What’s Going On” represented Marvin Gaye’s soulful contribution to the discourse of inequality, and environmental degradation. The song’s emotive vocal delivery and sophisticated orchestration rendered it an eternally relevant call for compassion and societal awareness.
