Harvest Moon 2021

The Harvest Moon this year in 2021 is spectacular in many ways. Harvest moons are full moons that occur once a year when sister moon is closest to the autumnal equinox, which is the beginning of Autumn or Fall, usually on Sept. 22 or 23. This year's harvest moon arrives tonight September 20 and will appear exactly opposite the sun at 7:54 p.m.

Mark your calendar because if you miss it tonight,  you will have to wait 12 months to see the light of this silvery moon before it returns once again.

Every day is the best time of the year to celebrate Hispanic Heritage as well as to shop and support all Latinos shops everywhere.

Now more than ever, you can show your support through your actions, which speak louder than words. For example, Hispanic-owned businesses are competitive and are growing at an exponential rate. These businesses have great products and services. They will add value to your lifestyle. Our call to action for all corporations is to hire more Latina and Latino-owned businesses through procurement opportunities. They are ready to help your business grow.

Dante Alighieri’s Commedia is the greatest poem in literature. That should attract us all, but most prefer overlooking what is old.

It has been 700 years since Dante’s death in September 1321. Since society has automobiles, telephones, and computers. We have come a long way. What could that long-dead Florentine say to all of us today?

One-Hit Wonders

One-hit wonders achieve short-term popularity for only one piece of work and become known solely for that success so long ago.

For example 25 years ago, back In 1996, I was Station Manager in charge of building a broadcast station in Valverde County Texas. KTRG-TV (Television from the Rio Grande) was right smack dab near the US-Mexico border, with the transmitter in Eagle Pass and offices in Del Rio Texas. During that time, a one-hit-wonder duo known as Los Del Río’s recorded their one and only smash hit record that broke the charts and smashed the hit parade.

Blue-Sturgeon Moon

Look up in the sky this Sunday to see if you catch an image of the full moon that will be both a "sturgeon moon" and "blue moon."

The moon will officially become full at 8:02 a.m. ET Sunday, but it will still appear plenty large throughout Saturday as well as Sunday nights. Just look toward the southeast sky after sunset to catch a glimpse of the sturgeon moon rising,
