UN DEMANDS SYRIA HALT VIOLENCE

Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon today reiterated his demand that the Syrian Government immediately cease all military actions against civilians, amid a growing refugee flow into neighboring countries and fatal cross-border fire that has resulted in deaths and injuries.

“The Secretary-General strongly deplores today’s fatal cross-border shootings from Syria into Turkey, as well as into Lebanon,” his spokesperson said in a statement.

Mr. Ban spoke today with Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, who conveyed his authorities’ utmost concern over the recent developments.

With gas prices always climbing, it’s important to protect your valuables and that means the gasoline stored inside your car's gas tank.

The average price of gas in the US is currently around $4 per gallon and therefore fuel theft has increased. Thieves are becoming creative and deviant.

- According to The AP, bandits have struck at least three upstate New York towns at night, tapping into underground tanks. Nearly 1,000 gallons of unleaded gasoline, kerosene and octane gas worth almost $6,400 were stolen.

The Bronx - New Yorkers Destination

According to The US Census Bureau statistics recently released show that The Bronx has become the top destination for people moving out of Manhattan. These figures show that more new Bronxites are immigrants who are moving in from Harlem, Inwood and Washington Heights.

The results from the American Community Survey reveal that 16,686 people left New York County for Bronx County from 2005 to 2009.This is a greater number than the 15,020 who moved to Brooklyn.
