Home Run or Run Home?

Was the State of the union considered by some a home run and characterized by others as a reason to run home for a reality check? @realDonaldTrump @POTUS Presidential' Trump, a one-night wonder? https://usat.ly/2DYU5Hr

Those who criticize @POTUS at all costs, with the sex scandal, the Russian collusion, obstruction of justice, the president’s mental competency, etc. For those who like the president, the scandal is a conspiracy to destroy @realdonaldtrump orchestrated by the Deep State, abetted by the media and Democratic lawmakers.

State of Confusion?

Submitted by ub on

Can anyone recall a US President ever addressing a Joint Session of Congress at a more perilous time? Has the past year been a great roadmap to make America great? With dismal approval numbers, the pressure of the Russia investigation will @POTUS look to a reset button with his first State of the Union address, arguing that his tax cut and economic policies will translate to peace justice and prosperity for all?

Legend In His Own Mind?

If it was easy to create the conditions for America’s resurgence all Presidents would be admired like Ronald Reagan. A @potus prediction that America would soon be seeing a quarterly economic growth of percent has fallen short like many others. Listen to the speeches and ask yourself whose message is most enduring?

Trump has suggested ways to compromise with the opposition. And there haven’t been any cringe-worthy tweets for at least a few days. Does this mean he is improving or is he too old for that?

Laughing and Mocking US

Could it be that a self-described #VSG very stable genius and great negotiator is more like an instigator and the builder is more like a destroyer? Where is the #MAGA TrumpPence endgame headed?

In US politics, a government shutdown happens when Congress and the President fail to pass appropriations legislation funding government operations and agencies. This is the first time under one-party rule.

Competitors, allies and creditor nations are pointing fingers and mocking our GOP controlled Whitehouse and Congress' inability to govern.

Financial Markets Commentary

It was an event a year ago that presaged the biggest story of 2017’s fourth quarter. In October 2016, Australia’s Brighann Cotton sold 88 bales of cotton from their Texas affiliate to a client in China. It wasn’t carried out in a routine way by obtaining letters of credit from the relevant
banks in each country. That process has become prohibitively complex for all but the largest corporations who have their financing denied more often than not. Recently established international banking regulations require the banks issuing those letters to carry more of the risk

Could this Whitehouse and Congressional act be walking back into the future? Who controls the White House and both chambers of Congress? What's really going on here?

In just one year, who's managed to shut down the most powerful government on earth? Could it be President Donald Trump and his Republican-controlled Congress, which failed to find the art of a deal on funding federal agencies, or taking the heat for the country’s deep political divisions? Where is that Bill of Love the deal maker proposed?

Stop Press Attacks

US Senator Jeff Flake Condemns President Trump's "Fake News" Attacks on the Media. The Arizona Republican is one of many lawmakers who is retiring at the end of his current term.

He took to the Senate floor to condemn President Trump's attacks on the media, and he called on his colleagues to stand up for truth, saying that a “president who cannot take criticism, who must constantly deflect, distort and distract, who must find someone else to blame, is charting a very dangerous path.
