According to The World Health Organization, alcohol has killed, continues to kill, and keeps killing more folks than any other legal substance. Alcohol kills way more Americans than opiates. Where's the outrage?

Worldwide, more than 3.3 million deaths a year were due to harmful use of alcohol, says WHO. Alcohol consumption can not only lead to dependence but also increases people’s risk of developing more than 200 diseases including liver cirrhosis and some cancers. In addition, harmful drinking can lead to violence and injuries.

US Senate Showdown

US Senator Chuck Grassley may soon be butting heads with Majority Leader Mitch McConnell as a Senate showdown becomes clear.

The Senate Judiciary Committee Thursday with strong bipartisan support endorsed legislation that would help shield special counsel Robert Mueller from any attempt by President Trump to fire him.

POTUS # Trump fought the law and the law won after a Federal Judge offers the strongest defense yet of DACA by ruling not only that the Trump administration must keep the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program in place but that officials must begin accepting new applications again in 90 days.

The Republican appointee held that administration officials had not sufficiently explained the rationale for halting the program.

He is reportedly doing so through executive order, which has quietly flown under the radar that cuts the Departments of Health and Human Services, Housing and Urban Development, Agriculture, as well as directs other federal agencies to cut benefits.

Dangerous Federal Deficits

With all the Trump drama, there is one extremely serious story which has a negative effect on everyone in the US. According to US budget analysts, POTUS tax cuts, spending bill is projected to raise the federal deficit to $804 Billion this year, that is nearly $1T by 2019.

The last 3 GOP presidents left Oval Office with higher deficits than when they were sworn in.

Both Democrat presidents left with lower deficits than when they walked in.

The Congressional Budget Office estimates that Trump is on track for a 2020 deficit to be 50% higher than 2017.

Congress is back to work, but only for two weeks before they take another vacation? This bicameral legislature of the Federal government of the United States, which consists of The Senate and The House of Representatives seems to spend more time off than they do working.

The law-making branch of our national government shares power with the president and the Supreme Court. The writers of the U.S. Constitution thought Congress was so important, they are listed first, so why is it they like to drag their heels and act last?
